Cashbook Privacy Policy

Cashbook is a personal cashbook app for recording income and expenses. This policy explains what data Cashbook handles, where it is stored, and the choices you have. The short version: your records live on your device and in backups stored in your own cloud account. We operate no servers and cannot access your data.

Data stored on your device

Your entries (amounts, descriptions, dates) and app settings are stored locally on your device. They are not transmitted to us or to any third party.

Google user data (Google Drive backups)

If you choose to back up with Google, Cashbook uses Google Sign-In and requests a single permission: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata. This permission allows Cashbook to create and manage its own backup files inside a hidden, app-private folder of your Google Drive. It does not allow Cashbook to see, open, modify, or delete any of your other Google Drive files.

Cashbook accesses and uses this Google user data only to:

• upload backup files containing your Cashbook records to the hidden app folder of your Google Drive;
• list those backup files so you can see and manage your backups;
• download a backup file to restore your records when you sign in on a device;
• delete old backup files as part of backup rotation, or when you ask for a backup to be deleted.

Backups are transferred directly between your device and Google Drive over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No Cashbook server exists in between, and no one at Cashbook can read your backups.

Cashbook does not sell Google user data, does not share it with any third party, does not use it for advertising, and does not use it to train machine-learning or AI models. No human at Cashbook reads it, except where you explicitly send us a file yourself for support and consent to that.

iCloud backups (iPhone)

On iOS you may instead back up to iCloud. Backups are stored in an app-private iCloud container belonging to your Apple ID, synced by Apple's iCloud service. We cannot access your iCloud data.

Retention and deletion

• Backups remain in your cloud account until deleted. Cashbook keeps only the most recent backups and automatically removes older ones.
• You can delete any backup from within the app at any time.
• Google Drive: disconnecting Cashbook in your Google account's security settings permanently removes all of its backup data from your Drive.
• Deleting the app removes all locally stored records from your device.

What we collect about you

Nothing. Cashbook has no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no user accounts of its own, and no servers. We receive no personal information about you unless you contact us directly.

Children

Cashbook is a general-audience app and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
